A 2-year-old child was treated in a British hospital last year for a forehead laceration, and he ended up with his eyelids glued together. Glue is commonly used to repair lacerations in children who are not likely to be still for suturing. The nurse who performed the gluing said she became distracted, and so the glue oozed into the eye. Fortunately, the glue dislodges itself after several days to weeks.
