Florida plastic surgeon lawsuit

Florida A board-certified plastic surgeon in Florida is reportedly being sued by the husband of a patient that died after surgery.  The Herald Tribune states that the 56-year-old woman underwent a facelift, liposuction, and silicone injections in 2006. She then died from a pulmonary embolism- a blood clot to the lungs.

This is a risk of surgery, though if the procedure was done under general anesthesia, the risk is higher than local anesthesia with sedation, which can be done for these procedures. The use of silicone injections is very uncommon these days due to complications.

All in all, another sad story that points out the seriousness of any surgical procedure.

Very good site and wanted to say that we have done loans for over 5,000 procedures and never once has anybody ever died from a plastic surgery procedure that we know of. While we do not recommend doctors we know of only 2 cases that the patient was very upset with a botched surgery and both of those cases were fixed by another plastic surgeon. I think that the important thing is to really research your doctor and find a very expereinced surgeon. It may cost but I think that everyone would agree that it is worth it.

Interesting use of silicone since silicone injections are completely FDA off label. You see that much more commonly in South America...

With the same inferior results and long term complications.
